The Setting: A sunny village in Rajasthan.
Kalu the Crow was flying over a dry village looking for water. He finally found a tall earthen pot, but the water level was very low. He tried to reach it with his beak, but he couldn't.
Kalu remembered the story of his grandfather, who dropped pebbles into a pot to raise the water. He started picking up stones one by one. It was exhausting work. Suddenly, he saw a discarded plastic straw nearby.
Instead of dropping a hundred stones, Kalu picked up the straw, dropped it into the pot, and sipped the water comfortably. He finished quickly and even had energy left to help his friends find the pot.
Moral: Hard work is good, but smart work is even better.
