The Setting: A drying lake in the Himalayan foothills.
Kambugriva the tortoise was best friends with two geese. When their lake began to dry up, the geese found a new home far away. To carry the tortoise, they held a stick in their beaks, and Kambugriva gripped the middle with his mouth.
"Do not open your mouth, or you will fall!" the geese warned.
As they flew over a village, people shouted, "Look! A flying tortoise! How silly!"
Angry and wanting to defend himself, Kambugriva opened his mouth to say, "Be quiet!" and tumbled straight down.
Moral: Always listen to friendly advice and know when it is better to stay silent.
